Old Town Sportsman PDL 106
Designed for flatwater use, the Sportsman 106 PDL can be used on inland waterways such as reservoirs, slow moving rivers, and gravel pits. It is also suitable for sheltered coastal/estuary use, providing there is minimal swell and calm conditions. The 106 is the smallest in Old Town's pedal-drive fishing kayak line-up, and therefore is the lightest. The seat and drive system can easily be removed, helping reduce the weight when the 106 is lifted onto a car roof-rack system.
As with all the PDL fishing kayaks, the 106 comes supplied with the incredibly robust propellor drive system, that can be used to generate forward and reverse speed. A nimble little kayak with an easy-to-use drive, and fully assembled rudder, makes the 106 great for fishing tight into reed beds, and along smaller waterways. All day comfort can be achieved by adjusting the raised element seating system to provide good back support, and distance from the pedals to maximise efficiency and comfort.
The Sportsman 106 comes supplied with plenty of handy, factory-fitted features such as flush-mounted rod holders, a generous bow hatch and a universal transducer mount on the underside. It also has two 18-inch tracks located upfront, which are designed to take Ram or Railblaza mounts. Allowing for the owner to modify their kayak without the need for drilling holes, and accessories can be added, removed, or adjusted dependent on the anglers needs.
