Old Town Sportsman PDL 120
Right in the middle of Old Towns PDL fishing kayak line up, the Sportsman PDL 120 is a nice all-round size at 12 feet in length. Making a nice compromise between weight, speed and manoeuvrability. The 120 shares the same features as the rest of the PDL range, including a fully adjustable Element seat system, reliable pedal-drive and super stable 'double-U' shaped hull. The drive system can instantly be set into reverse drive by pedalling backwards, and the kayak is easily steered using the factory fitted rudder system.
Old Town have packed lots of kayak-angler friendly components into the PDL 120, to ensure a great on-water experience, with the minimum of fuss and hassle. Many people will want to add a fish-finder onto their kayak. This is simple to do, without necessarily having to drill through the 120's hull. By utilising the existing t-track rails located next to the transducer dedicated scupper hole, a head-unit, transducer, mounts and cabling can all be easily installed or removed as desired.
The 120 was created with the U.S. bass fishing market in mind, and whereas the UK doesn't see its share of inland bass, the 120 is perfect for targeting other freshwater species. The hull is very stable, and the deck has non-slip matting to allow the angler to stand up from the raised seat to make longer casts and play fish away from snags and underwater obstructions. Although the Sportsman PDL kayaks are designed for inland water, they can be used to great effect in sheltered coastal areas on calm days when there is no swell or surf.
