Because of the cleverly designed hull shape, the Old Town Sportsman Salty PDL 120 is famous for its capacity to tackle larger swell, surf launches and more challenging conditions. The Salty PDL 120 has 4 flush-mount rod holders factory fitted, to offer different rod set-ups for different situations and conditions. This angling kayak also has many thoughtful features from bow to stern that provide the paddler with a simple, stable platform to fish or kayak from. The kayaker will have plenty of room to store a crate or cooler, and other items thanks to the two roomy tank wells - one at the bow and one larger one behind the seat. On either side of the main seating area are two 18" flush mounted tracks that make it simple to install additional rod holders or to fully utilize the transducer scupper hole by setting up a fish-finder onto the track. With a universal mounting block set into the hull of the boat under the scupper hole, makes installing a fish-finder transducer quick and simple. Immediate forward and reverse drive makes this extremely easy to use and reliable.

The pedal system used on this kayak is the renowned PDL Drive from Old Town, featuring an easy docking system for easy launches and landings. This drive can easily be removed from the kayak which allows it to be roof-topped on a vehicle, or to reduce the overall weight during transportation. The raised seat-frame means a drier ride, with the mesh cover providing excellent ventilation and drainage, and the seat is adjustable along a track to accommodate varying leg lengths. The seat is designed to provide excellent lower back support. The non-slip area in front of the seat allows for standing up to cast and fish from.
